2008 Leadership Academy is Coming!

Your local is invited to participate in the TSTA Leadership Academy 2008, in Austin.  We encourage you to send a leadership team of 4-6 people. The primary focus of the Leadership Academy will be on developing members and leaders to be able to help create and build full-capacity local associations. Please review the information below for details and instructions for registration.  We are looking forward to seeing you at our best Leadership Academy yet!

• June 20-22, 2008

• Airport Hilton Hotel, 9515 New Airport Drive, Austin, TX 78719-2351

• Double occupancy—TSTA will book rooms

• A limited number of single rooms are available upon request and with pre-payment for half of the room rate ($54.05).  Request and fee must be submitted with registration.

• Friday 1:00 p.m. until Sunday noon

  • Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning

• New President’s Training – Thursday 1:00 p.m. until Friday noon – June 19-20, 2008

  • Registration fee – no additional registration fee is required if president is attending LA & paying the LA registration fee (double occupancy)
    (TSTA will pair new presidents for double occupancy)

• Everyone must pre-register – registration form enclosed

  • Registration fee – $89 (early registration-up until May 21)
    ($119 (late registration May 21 – June 4)
    $149 (non-member or after June 4)

• We cannot guarantee hotel availability after June 4, 2008.

• Last day to register is June 9, 2008

• Payment must be submitted with registration form to ensure registration

• The local association or the participant is responsible for the following:

  • registration fee per person

  • transportation and meals while traveling to and from Austin

  • miscellaneous expenses

  • Saturday night dinner expense

We have the capacity to accept registrations for up to 210 regular participants and 20 new presidents. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.  We are not limiting the number of participants who may attend from any one local at this time.  If response is greater than anticipated, we may have to limit the number from any one local at a later time.  A schedule of sessions and a registration form are attached.  Please return the registration forms and the fees as soon as possible but no later than the date listed above. If you have questions, please call Rosie Castillo at 1-800-324-5355 or email her at rosiec@tsta.org.

NOTE: In order to reduce excessive shipping costs, we are planning for locals who drive to the conference to pick up and take home the TSTA provided membership materials.
