Elections
All nomination forms for TSTA-Retired President and Vice
President, Retired delegates to the TSTA State Convention, and the
Retired delegates to the NEA Representative Assembly should be
received at TSTA-Retired by January 16, 2009. Click here for
nomination forms. Ballots will be mailed in
February. Ballots must be received at TSTA-Retired, 316 W. 12th
Street, Austin, TX 78701 by March 11, 2009, to be counted. Click

NEA-Retired Western Regional
Conference
The NEA-Retired Western Regional Conference will be in Portland,
Oregon on March 31- April 2, 2009. Watch for more information in
This Active Life. All reservations must be made online, which opens
November 2008 on the NEA-Retired website. If you have trouble,
please contact TSTA at 512-476-5355 or 1-800-324-5355. There is an
additional tour in Portland. More information can be found on our

Retired Annual Meeting/TSTA State
Convention
All members are invited to attend the TSTA-Retired Annual
Meeting. This year it will be April 15-16, 2009, at the Drury Inn,
1615 West Loop South, Houston, TX 77027. Please call 1-800-325-0720
to make your individual reservations. Room block will be held until
Saturday, March 14, 2009. Be sure to reference the Group
Name-TSTA-Retired, Group Number-2042404, and location when calling.
This will be an informative and fun time. More information will be
in the Spring Newsletter or on our web page. The TSTA State
Convention will be at the InterContinental Hotel in Houston on April
17-18, 2009.
Project Plans
The TSTA-Retired Board of Directors needs your help! One of our
goals is to increase our Retired Membership. We have grant money
available for locals who want to help us recruit members to join as
pre-retired. Contact your Regional Directors, Active and Retired
for more information. Plans must be submitted to TSTA-Retired by
February 2, 2009.
Don't Forget!
Pre-Retired members, don't forget that you need to contact TSTA when
you have retired to activate your Life Membership in TSTA-Retired/NEA-Retired.
