  TSTA-Student Program

Students Team to Transform School, an Annual Event Each year, as part of the NEA Student Program Conference, more than 350 student members, active teachers, education support professionals, and retired educators band together to renovate a local school. This year, on June 27, the team transformed Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia,  inside and out by cleaning, painting, landscaping, and creating bulletin boards, among other tasks. The school is located five miles outside of Washington, D.C., and serves approximately 1,500 students.

TSTA Student Program leaders elected for 2008-2009 participated in the 2008 TSTA Leadership Academy in Austin, June 20-22, 2008, at the Hilton Austin Airport, 9515 New Airport Drive, Austin, TX 78719-2351.
