TSTA-SP: You are Invited to
TSTA's
2008
Leadership Academy
TSTA Student Program leaders elected for 2008-2009 are invited to participate in the 2008 TSTA Leadership Academy in Austin, June 20-22, 2008, at the Hilton Austin Airport, 9515 New Airport Drive, Austin, TX 78719-2351.
We have designed a special program with four sessions just for TSTA-SP state, district and chapter officers. The four sessions will be (1) Transitioning from a Student Member to an Active Member, (2) Basic Law for 1st Year Teachers, (3) Becoming a Great SP Leader, and (4) Professional Dress for Professional Success.
Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22nd. The Opening Session will begin at 1:00 p.m. The Leadership Academy (LA) will conclude on Sunday, June 24th at noon, but the sessions for student leaders will end at noon on Saturday, June 23rd. TSTA will provide lodging (at double-occupancy rate) Friday night, as well as meals for Friday evening and Saturday through lunch at no cost to the participants. Participants must fund their own travel costs. If you wish to attend Saturday afternoon or Sunday sessions, you may do so at your own expense. Please notify us of your intent to do so.
We have the capacity to accept up to 20 student leaders for this training. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. A $40.00 deposit is required for each participant with each pre-registration form. Once the participant registers at the hotel on June 20th, the deposit will be refunded. No shows will forfeit the deposit.
Each participant must complete and submit a pre-registration form with a $40.00 deposit by June 1, 2008. Participants will be notified of receipt of registration.
