Summer
Leadership 2006
Four TSTA members from Southside attended the TSTA Summer Leadership
Training this summer in Austin. The members are President Geneva
Rodriguez, Vice-President Krista Kuwamura, Secretary Andrea Jackson,
and Hospitality Chairman Sylvia Gomez. Sylvia was selected by TSTA
to be a participant in the Women’s Minority Track. We had a great
time learning more about TSTA and our duties as officers.
Ambassador Academy 2006
Two Southside members, Geneva Rodriguez and Susan Richardson, were
selected to participate in the TSTA Ambassador Academy July 17-21,
2006. They underwent intense
training and now have new insights into TSTA which will be an asset to
our local association.
New Teacher Orientation
Southside Education Association (SEA) will set up a table at the NEO
in August 2006. All officers are encouraged to participate in the
new teacher roundup. Current members will receive T-shirts and
member bags. Please stop by the booth to sign up if you are not
currently a member.
NEO Luncheon
SEA will provide a luncheon for the new teachers during new teacher
training week. The date will be published soon. The approximate
date for the luncheon is August 9th. Members are encouraged to
participate and stop by for the luncheon.
Association Representative Training
Susan Salinas from TSTA will conduct AR training on August 9th
(approximate date). The AR’s will also be served lunch. This will
be the same luncheon that the new teachers will enjoy.
