A message from President
Jorge L.
Rodriguez On behalf of the
Maverick County Local Association, I welcome you to our web page and hope
that you take a few moments to look at the accomplishments and activities
of our association. Our local has taken
great measures to ensure that the children of our community will be
provided with the best trained and informed teachers and educational
support professionals. All over our city of Eagle Pass, and more
importantly in our district, we are known as the association that does the
most for its members. We have taken great pride that in the past two
school board elections (2002 and 2003) our local has endorsed and worked
for five school board candidates and thanks to our members and the
community, we got them elected.
What does all this
work mean? Well, it means that our local association members are the most
connected in the district, and if you are an employee of our district I
invite you to join our association. When you join you will also be a part
of the largest educational group in our country, the National Education
Association. At your disposal will be educational information, legislative
action, employee representation, members discounts, legal support,
insurance protection, and professional development.
Maverick County
Local and TSTA/NEA take a lot of pride in our involvement at all levels of
education, be it national, state, and local. I hope that you all have had
a restful summer break and I wish all of you the most success as together
we meet the challenges for the upcoming school year.
