2020 Election

Check out TSTA’s slate of endorsed candidates. TSTA endorses candidates, Democrat and Republican, based on one issue alone: dedication to great public schools.

Voting by mail? Your deadline to apply for a ballot is October 23. Don’t leave it until the last moment—help the post office help you by giving them and yourself plenty of time. Find your county’s dropbox here.

Thought you might vote by mail but decided to vote in person instead? BRING YOUR MAIL-IN BALLOT TO THE POLLS! You will need to surrender your mail-in ballot to avoid having to use a provisional ballot.

Want to get more involved? If you’re ready to find out more about how to support public education at the polls, visit Education Votes. You’ll find candidate comparisons, issue analyses and ways you can take action.

Speaking of taking action, join the #EducatorsForBiden who are phone banking our fellow NEA members in battleground states. If you own a phone, you have a potent tool for saving democracy and turning out the vote. Put it to use and call NEA members with us! We’ll be calling members across the country to help them make a plan to vote this year, either by mail or safely early in person, and we need your help.

Show off your “I Voted” sticker! We want to see you sporting your sticker outside your polling place, so email us your post-vote victory selfie! Don’t take a camera into the voting booth!

Be a TSTA PAC hero! Please also consider joining, or increasing your monthly contribution to, the TSTA PAC. Participation is completely voluntary and the funds we raise help elect pro-public education candidates to the Texas Senate and House. Every member who contributes increases our collective strength at the Capitol.
