House approves caregiver enrollment bill

The full House on Wednesday approved several education-related bills, including HB 1359 by Marc Veasey, allowing a relative who is a caregiver to enroll a child in public school.

Also winning House approval were:

  • HJR 109 by Rob Orr, proposing a constitutional amendment to clarify references to the Permanent School Fund and to allow the General Land Office to distribute revenue derived from Permanent School Fund land or properties to the Available School Fund.
  • HB 2233 by Dan Huberty, relating to school district food service contracts.
